Pewter is an alloy consisting of mostly tin and it is the fourth most precious metal. It also has very small amounts of antimony and copper which is added
mainly for strength and/or colour.
This pewter vase is adorned with Flowers of the Four Seasons, namely orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum and plum blossom representing Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter respectively. These flowers allude to the passing of time and the changes in nature. Orchid symbolises integrity; chrysantemum, nobility; plum, perseverance and bamboo, longevity. The traditional floral representations of the seasons in Chinese art and culture, richly sculpted in classical fashion.
A satin finish surface with simple lining pattern on it, giving it a balance appearance.
